My GT SE is now 8yo, and is only swanky as it was the last of the line and they were tossing out all the "extras" for nought. Mind you, it was the closest thing to what was possibly what a modern Laverda would look like. 3cyl, 1000cc and about the same weight as my 3CL but with liquid cooling, fuel injection, 135hp, single swingarm, and excellent suspension, wheels and brakes. Add ons were full luggage, touring screen, heated grips and lower gel seat.Maybe on you swanky new one Davo, not on those old 03 04 ones, no abs and a distinct lack of feel, particularly 2 up, partially better than the ambassador’s brakes but not by much
Yes, the end is nigh.If people like Wolfgang who supply the parts to keep our machines on the road age out of business, what then? Is anyone in their 30/40’s going to take up such a business or is there enough profit to appeal?
Are old Nortons, Triumphs or BSAs still fully supported partswise by an aftermarket. I suspect that old Harleys are, but don’t really know. Are all the orphan brands in the same boat these days: aging customer base and aging suppliers too?
