Laverda New Products in Production.

This is the second set of 750 Silencers that we have now completed, according to my research they were never on UK bikes, only everywhere else. I am informed that they were too noisy for the UK market, so Conti then developed the ones listed first. Both sets have the same DGM numbers, and those numbers will be on the production silencers which should be ready in about 4 weeks time, and prices will be available next week.
The plating on all my products is "Triplex" plating, which is copper, then nickle, then bright chrome, that is why the finish is show quality.  These too will be at the ILOC AGM on Sunday.......orders being taken now, any questions please ask......regards, Malcolm

Firstly, can I thank everyone for the good comments on here and at the AGM last Sunday, manufacturing is a big financial risk, but with the present orders and dozens of enquiries for the 750 exhaust parts I am sure it will be worth the effort and investment.
I now enclose the last set of 750 Silencers, known as "Slash Cuts"    Like the others the production ones will carry the correct DGM Numbers and Laverda part number.  These are manufactured from 1.5mm thick  steel which is .6mm thicker than originals.  The internals have been copied like the originals so the exhaust now in all 3 types of silencers are going to be the same exhaust note.
The whole new range is all "Triplex" plating, with Copper, Nickle then bright Chrome, this will offer the best protection possible for chrome.......
Delivery on all silencers will be about 4 weeks time and orders are being taken now, prices to be available in a few days.  The Down Pipes are also in production for the 750 now and will be about 6 weeks delivery.
I also have the balance crossover box clamps in stock now, and the Crossover box should be about 7-8 weeks delivery.
All enquiries welcome.......
regards
Malcolm

Good onya Malcolm - best of luck to you with it all!

They look like superb quality replicas, Malcolm. Well done on taking the risk - I'm sure you'll have a larger market than you anticipated. Like Chris, I wish I had a stocker to exploit those good looks on!

out of interest, has your man had any trouble sourcing original SF1/2/3 dia pipe for the headers? I can't seem to find it anywhere in Oz ... maybe Staintune, but they didn't reply to my email query.

Quentin

Hi Quentin,

Thanks for the message, firstly thank you for your supportive comments.
We have managed to obtain the 42mm tube without any problems.  My steel tube stockholder does mainly use British steel as it is refined in a good bending quality.
Needless to say Chinese tube is supposed to be a "certain grade" but when bending it it creases and tears, it seems not to be annealed  correctly, or is just a bad grade of mixed up crap.........
However, this steel is UK processed, I did ask, mainly for polishing and plating concerns.
My stockholder does also purchase from around Europe when necessary to obtain correct grades and sizes.
The other smaller size is 35mm, which is the same dia as the Triple down pipes.  We are using 34.95mm tube with a 1.5mm wall thickness.  The Laverda Factory usually used a 1.25mm tube, slightly thicker wall thickness gives a better smoother bend, and having spent ?6,000 on new mandrils and formers the bends achieved so far are excellent and a better quality than the originals.
They are currently at the polishers and platers so will know next week how good they Chrome..!!!

Good stuff, Malcolm. Sounds like you have sourced the right people for the job ... and UK steel has never been anything but top notch. Pretty clearly a lot of cheap steel is finding its way into Oz - my old muffler man said the budget replacement car mufflers are so poor, he recommends sourcing anything original from a wrecker - and I know what he means, having been sold a cheapy and seen it fall apart in no time.

Will you get around to any SFC copies? I'm intending on putting together a twin system for my 270 deg crank motor, but probably just source the down pipes under the motor and build back from there.

Along with millions of tons of coal, millions of tons of iron ore, and millions of tons of natural gas - to be returned to us as sub-par rubbish iron (you can't really call it steel - steal maybe) instead of using the resources we have in plenty and making decent stuff here like we used to.

Will make some mighty fine submarines then....

I just collected 50 sets of down pipes for the 1000/1200 series 1 & 2, 120 Jota/RGS/RGA/SFC 1000
on Thursday, so are boxing and sending them out globally starting Monday.

As a special request I have just done  a set of RGA Down pipes in Black Chrome, and the results are totally
stunning.
I have deceided to do a full Jota system and will post it here when done.

I will now supply ANY of my exhaust parts in black chrome if requested, the pictures do not do the finish justice, it
is awesome......
Just ask if you are interested please........
