Had a shorty rectangular right hand side mirror screwed into the Mirage for many years ........ The mirror itself was swivel adjustable ........
The trouble was , I would spend about five minutes carefully adjusting it at the start of the ride to obtain the perfect rear view ......... but as soon as the bike hit 5000 rpm , the vibes which resulted from Luciano Zen`s attempts to eliminate the rocking couple would ping the mirror into a position which meant all I could see in it was me ....... to be exact , my face staring back at myself ..........
It was always the same ........ not the sky , hedgerow , or tarmac , just my face .............. Not that I would normally object to having the chance to admire myself in the mirror whilst riding along ........ but it wasn`t much use for knowing what was going on behind ..........
No amount of super glue , gaffa tape or zip ties would keep it in position once the triple hit that 5000 - 8000 rpm interest zone ........ I eventually fitted a bar-end which was much better at staying where it was supposed to ...........
( Nothing to do with leather jackets ...... sorry ..... ) ............
