I recommend you wrap one on - WHY: Protects the leather lining in your helmet on them HOT Insidious Rides when your scalp sweats.

If you don't, the leather in your Helmet disintegrates from the Acid.

Reusable cotton cloth baby diapers work great, new and unused of course . Very absorbent. Makes the helmet feel cooler too. Dont use those disposable nappies

The last helmet I saw with a leather lining was an old pudding-basin type from the 1950's.  Helmets are pretty much all synthetic materials nowadays.

On long hauls, I ride with a bandana type thing around my neck. Not to stop helmet damage from leaking head acid ???, but to stop bugs from entering my jacket via the neck of my jacket.

Ditto me too, can also pull it up over my mouth and nose on cold mornings or in the rain to reduce fogging of the visor.

Cotton diapers work well as a "dew rag" and a bug filter too. Davida helmet has a leather lining.
