No, but, back in '72, I had a thrush fly into my face at 85mph. The beak stuck me on the side of my nose about 3/8 of an inch from my eye, which took the weight of the body, at a closing speed of 120mph approx. They only weigh 65-100g, but at that speed it was the hardest punch I've ever taken.

I still flinch, while riding, whenever birds are around.

In Norway I use a buff these days, blardy brilliant, much prefer to expensive patent neck warmers. Used to hate the idea of the stinking things but got converted.

I used to have one of them, brilliant. Wore it to Alpine rally and many other winter rides. Lost it and can't find another one to buy.

Plenty of options here for balaclavas if you want one.

Personally, I've never felt the need for head underwear, although I occasionally wear a neck gasket if it's very cold (aka: scarf, neck warmer ? or buff?).

Probably a good thing Ermenegildo Zegna doesn't sell balaclavas any more. Judging by some of the other stuff in their clothing range, they'd be priced at about $135
