Thank you Fellow Members of Laverda Forums for your support.

I'll do my best NOT to frustrate our Moderators over Toxic Content in future ;o)

HOWEVER: I propose that this Forum should include a FREE Topic named something like “DISCORD” or “THE ATTIC” were members can freely express personal incidents and matters about our Breganzie experiences without being judged by Administrators.

Granted Maintaining, Repairing and Riding Breganzies is what this forum is all about but after having saddled a Breganzie for over 45 years doesn't include the whole story where a Breganzie takes you.

Other then for Curiosity to learn and understand my friends, a good argument is respectful. I have never attacked an individual for their views. I may put them aside for awhile but their position never leaves my conscience - After all that's what makes us who we are.

Ron.

Ron who, it's been too long. The problem is liability legally for those in charge. Maybe we need a tutorial as to what's unacceptable to post legally. I try and use my lived experience and good intentions to help others and here we go, Common sense whatever that is. Everybody has their opinion on stuff, I do find myself self-censoring on occasions. Even posting this has me hesitating. Not posting while pissed helps I expect.

Hi Ron. Welcome back.

I have no idea what got you booted out in the first place Ron. I never saw anything nasty from you myself, and I guess it's none of my business. I'm just glad for you that it wasn't permanent.

I can't see how a separate section for "discord" would be in any way helpful. Any new forum section would still have to comply with the general rules of behaviour so it can't be free of administration or allow any any greater tolerance of questionable material. It could even be counter-productive by encouraging nastiness. We already have a "general discussion" section where you can talk about anything. Having a separate section for squabbling doesn't make offensive stuff OK or absolve any legal issues.

Disagreement within the normal discussion threads is fine, so long as it isn't offensive, a personal attack, or anything that can get the site owner into legal trouble. We're in public view here so it's incumbent on all of us to mind our manners.

Cheers,
Cam

I’m always up for a healthy debate on almost any topic, but there has to be a time and a place to do it. This forum is perhaps not the right place for your suggestion Ron because, as we all know, emotions can run high when subjects that people can hold diametrically opposed views get locked into an ever increasing dogmatic and potentially abusive argument.
As already pointed out the publisher can be held equally accountable for posts that are deemed to be abusive, threatening, defamatory or constitute a ‘hate crime’ (which seems to be just about everything these days) so I can understand the reticence of the admin team to allow posts that increase their voluntary workload.
Just my opinion of course and others may think differently.
Whatever, I shall once again look forward to your contributions on the full range of Laverda related topics.

September 1939 and Churchill returns to the Admiralty . A signal is sent to the entire fleet " Winston is back". This feels very similar. "Ron is back".
Then managing in your first post to have the admin guys reaching for the Advil bottle is the stuff of legend.
Welcome back Ron !!

You did your time Ron. Welcome back from the Gulag. Back with an explosive start I see :)

Gossip... I hear the info went around the prison hard men that Ron could wheelie an SF, in third gear, going downhill. As such his time in the showers was far more pleasant than expected and no soap was dropped.

For the avoidance of doubt, you (all) agreed to LaverdaForum Terms and rules when you registered. By observing them, I enjoy a quiet life. If you want to set up an 'anything goes' environment Ron then do please contact me to arrange the transfer of hosting.

I appreciate the more measured views expressed here by Cam & Andy J

welcome back Ron, your postings (usually) cheered me up, and set me off with happy thoughts that might last the whole day, but dont let the same thing happen to you as Winston Churchill ("Winston is back") which was to later be elected as prime minister and then linked with the allies defeated the Nazi aggressors, never mind what anyone thinks of Churchills regime, or his methods, he was voted out at the first general election after the war, don't let that happen to you.

now tell us more stories of third gear downhill wheelies, was that with 20KG of spuds on the angle iron carrier or not? I have a carrier on TOG which many liken to scaffolding (its actually 20mm conduit not 45mm pole) and I once rode from home (near London) to Belgium with a 250 Suzuki Gamma motor tied to it, to get it delivered to a buyer and have a bit of fun at the same time, after 30 miles I just had to stop and move the plywood temporary base to the pillion position and try agin, was still abit hairy.

thanks Jo, looks like the corner of Piazza Mazzini, and not quite opposite the old Laverda family house/factory complex, but the odd thing is, I seem to have parked it "just in the road" and alongside an unidentified RGS that I cannot recall. A shame that the nine inch clip on extension is not present, I will see if I can find a photo, but usually its only there if heavilly loaded, and when in a field its under the centre stand feet.
