Blimey Ron, where do you get these pearls of wisdom from? What's the specific hazard with SF or SFC batteries that you don't get with other bikes?
Petrol dripping anything is not a good idea, but a battery is no more dangerous than anything else. I'd be more concerned about a petrol leak if it was onto a hot exhaust or a spark plug lead.
Petrol doesn't conduct electricity, so it's not going to cause any problems with the battery unless there's also a loose connection on one of the terminals that could potentially cuause a spark. If your electrical system is well maintained with tight connections, you could throw petrol at it all day and not have it blow up.
