motogp (where's Tina?)

what a motherfucking pussy that dani pedrosa is
and has like 20kg advantage on the rest
good race, rossi still has it looks like will be an interesting year
missing stoner though, hope he comes back when they bin dani
Scott, post pics of next weekend, surely wish I was there!
enjoy

So Lorenzo set his fastest times on fresh tyres, and Rossi set his on worn ones, with his second fastest lap on the last lap.

I think this year will be a good vintage. Marquez may soon be the one they are all chasing.
Pedrosa has this year to win the championship. If he doesn't do it I can't see him being able to hang on to that seat next year.

I understand the anti-Rossi faction, but they should also understand why some folk can't stand Stoner.

All I understand is commitment to win.  Stoner, Rossi, Crutchlow et al have it in spades, I don't think Pedrosa does- he couldn't even keep a rookie behind him on the first race.  He's got no chance.

seems ticket sales are not as expected...could be the $30 per day fee for bike parking
or the 40% COTA is charging vendors so burgers are $12 and bottled water is $6
(no, you can't bring anything into the circuit)
i won't be surprised to see $50 t-shirt prices....
or, it could be folks are pissed COTA told kevin to fuck off

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/189322/1/schwantz_sets_the_record_straight_on_cota_claim.html
then there are the new security measures not unlike that imposed on air travelers
http://motomatters.com/news/2013/04/16/circuit_of_the_americas_announces_increa.html
i'll be there for practice friday...probably in a toga with sandals thanks to security
if its a big hassle i'll go home and watch in the big screen and COTA can go fuck itself

sad.  after boston i think terrorists have won regardless of how many of them you can catch or kill.
life of the well behaved citizen is a drag.
red lion on bleecker in NY, sex drugs and pistachios
and all them greats

My daughter used to live just a couple of blocks from Bleecker St, on St Mark's Place. That's where I got Cosi's "Cosi" sweatshirt, it's a restaurant chain but there's a couple of them in Greenwich Village. If you've watched any cops'n'robbers TV shows or movies filmed in Noo Yawwrrrkk within the last 100 years you've seen these places, they shoot there all the time. My daughter's apartment building in Greenwich Village has been in at least 3 episodes of "Law and Order" that she knows of.
The New York Hell's Angels clubhouse is just off Bleecker St.

Doc, she actually moved to Williamsburg because $2500 a month for an unbelievably tiny 3 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor (US; 4th floor for the rest of us) with all slanting walls and floors went up to $3000 without warning. But what was even more hard to take was the constant noise, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there's always lots of people doing lots of things. Exciting when you're in your early 20s, but everybody gets tired of it sooner or later.
No Laverdas there, either (staying on track).

red lion a bar on bleecker st in the village, nyc where my friends and i used to go and get plastered on all kinds of substances and girls and pistachios...
good times, should check it out if in new york, one of the best streets there is for unpretentious live music.
miss my laverdas, Rio is great and all but here to ride a bike you ride between lanes, 2 lanes, you and your bike sandwiched in the middle over the white lines...
fucking crazy brazilians, and some people think italians drive madly, should come ride here, need new boxers every few miles...
as ron artest said: now i am 'world peace'
crazy bum

how many races will rossi win this season?
lorenzo wins championship again?
marquez beats dani?
if so, dani is canned at year end?
why is spies so slow?
ducati doomed all year again?
audi helps or does the opposite?
will mv agusta or aprilia enter motogp?
i will be in Argentina early July when they test there.
problem is i will be in the south and they test
up north...  might do the long trip though,
argentinians are very excited indeed.
hope they add south american leg soon
cheers,

Stayed right next door to that Hell's Angels Clubhouse for a week a couple of years ago in an apartment block run by Hare Khrisnas -was it near 1st and 2nd street or avenues?  Down not too far from Alphabet City and there were some great bars in the area. There was a bench on the street outside the clubhouse - a sign just inside the entrance to our block suggested not to sit on the neighbours bench, as it was for the Sergeant-at-Arms.

Jo decided to strike up a conversation with them from the first day and we'd chat with them whenever we were coming and going - they were a friendly lot.  Never heard of Laverdas though... was going to tell them they were ignorant swine, but didn't want to hurt their feelings.

Who would be stupid enough to steal a Hell's Angels' bike (or would want to) :o

I went to NY once (1985), as I was leaving I had the thought 'crikey, I made it out alive'.
I don't know what it's like now but it was like a zoo, even had bouncers on the doors at McDonalds to keep undesirables out!
Still, I got to go up top of the World Trade Center.

Errr, MotoGP. Good racing last time, actually had some overtaking.

G'day Simon

NY is more visitor friendly than it used to be. I was there in 1990 and it was as you describe - rather unpleasant. Nobody would make eye contact and it took a week of staying in the hotel before the staff at the front desk would greet me with a "hello". Restaurants offered the ubiquitous greasy spoon "diner" fare. I remember seeing a woman dressed in nothing but plastic bags rummaging in garbage bins for food. I even had the full NYC experience of getting mugged.

I've been back a few times since then and it keeps getting better. Last time I visited was 2009 and it was like a diifferent city. People were happy and friendly, subways were safe and graffiti free, excellent choice of food in the shops and great resaurants were everywhere. It's now one of my favourite destinations.
