Yes, but it doesn't always show up a bad diode and you have to disconnect the diode from the circuit before measuring. The diode test mode on a meter can be done with the diode in circuit and gives you the voltage drop in forward bias, rather than the resistance across the diode.... can't you check a diode by doing a continuity check in both direction?
Now that I have a fancy Fluke I'll have to learn how to do complicated stuff like this CamMy elec abilities are a bit of a weak point
