music in the shed

Just saw Eric Burdon and the Animals in concert.  Good God Eric why didn't  you take better care of yourself , oh that's right it was all 'Sex, drugs and Rock and Roll' and now your old before your time. Great concert, excellent voice the man can wail the blues, the band was tops but alas no other Animals except Eric. Cheers Dave

Guess I'm a bit young (43) for the average music tastes here - mind you, there's at least one forum member still in his twenties.
so where does that bring me with my 34 years, i'll go ahead and change my nickname to 'le gamin' (the kid) then?

Musically: anything that's made outta love for music rather than commercial aspirations apply. Mostly experimental stuff (einsturzende neubauten, aphex twin, chris clarke, boards of canada...) instrumental hiphop (Dj Shadow, Amon Tobin, Ninja Tune stuff) dub and dubstep (king tubby, lee scratch perry...) and ye all time rock (bon scott AC, system of a down, triggerfinger, therapy, edge of sanity), contemporary classical (arvo p?rt, arthur russel..) Jazz ( coleman, Zorn, Getz, ) and preferrably the stuff in between, of which you can't tell where to file it under.

Ah, I'm a bit young, you're quite young & Zane750 is very young. Any other takers? I've a feeling that Scorch is another young thing.

Ah yes, my favourite genre of music: the unclassifiable stuff.

Mind you, don't trust my judgement, I've spent a chunk of tonight giggling at an outfit called "Fascinating Aida" on youtube. Their track "Dogging" is especially delightful. I'm now rounding off the evening with some Hawkwind

installing a DMC ignition to:

The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams.
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes.
The black queen chants
the funeral march,
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king.

must be something :D

are 4C cams dialed in with this?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEOlTZGuLKM&feature=related

You might like this, I saw it on the Jools Holland show - a bit weird but bloody excellent:

And for thirds.... this guy really needs a Laverda in his life. I suggest a 180, to wake him from his catatonia. Hag.

At the risk of alienating myself from all you old stuck in the muds, Have just discovered that Plan B is excellent soothing music in the garage. Helps whilst trying to undo nuts and bolts that don't want to be undone. Better than beating the crap out of your radio with a fork tube.  8) 8) 8)

Padlock , I thought Jethro Tull had that effect on everyone ? On Planet Rock yesterday they had 3 of the best from Mr J Tull , I had to lock the door and run away quick. Allowing for a hefty flute solo etc I deemed it safe to return an hour later. They where playing The Doors  "Light My Fire " which is just as fecking bad in my book. Had to leave again to allow for organ solo, ( not mine , narf narf ) ended up getting cock all done...................Next time I think I'll just switch it off.

Wow Zappa, was brought up on him, as I had a 6 year older bother, first saw him at 14, Knebworth festival about 1978, then at Birmingham Odeon, first row seats at a bout 15. Between us we had the first 21 albums. From Freakout up to Joes Garage acts 1 and 2. I think one of my favourites was Bongo Fury. Where's those Titties I love so well and my god damn beer,  i started to yell, oh happy days.
Al.

Unreal how we mostly share not just bike but musical tastes (and sense of humor?).
Hey Dave, better check Mr Burdon's DOB, done the miles since when he was young, good to hear he's still happening.
We used to play Watermelon in Easter Hay from Joe's Garage to our daughter as a lullaby, she grew up on it too I guess.
Do you think they'll still be arguing about most of the music coming out now in 2045?
