My last Laverda?

I have just finished what may be my last Laverda project, I don’t have any other on the line at least… I am only missing the side badges, but I only put them after successful first kilometer… strange old habit. The engine started already but still haven’t test it on the road.

Technical question… I installed completely new clutch discs, when I pull the clutch lever, they get sticked, I have to make some force on the wheel with my hands but they then get free and I can turn the wheel freely. I release the handle and press again and they are sticked again…

I am a bit concerned how they will behave on the first ride… never happened before! Maybe after some use it will behave as expected?? Any experiences?

Now I put some photos of the finished result
You may only critisize the orange Marzocchi!!🤣🤣🤣

Nice work indeed, Miguel. And a nice little collection of bikes there too!! I wouldn't worry about the clutch until you've started it and can see whether it disengages properly. I've never tested a clutch 'statically' like that.

Great job Miguel and retiring so young from saving Laverda’s???
Hello Maurice!
Nice to hear from you! I love restoring bikes, but I don't have any other Laverda in my surrounding that I could buy for restoring, and to be honest, every time is more difficult to get the parts…
I bought a super tenere in great condition that will drive great with a bit of love, that will be my next project ☺️
I would love to have a Jota with slater engine, 4C cam HP pistons… but not possible to find in Spain.

I bought my 1995 TT350 in 1996 off a mate - The most reliable bike I have owned.
Hadn't ridden it for a while -Gave it a clean - Drained the fuel - Cleaned the Plug and changed the oil and started 2nd Kick.

sticking clutches are very often oil brand related. Try a different brand of common or garden 20/50 engine oil suitable for diesels, better still, air cooled stationary diesels. I have never bought bike specific engine oil. I have used many brands, at one time SAE30 for London double deck busses (dont ask) and generator oil (dont ask again) I have never had an engine falure due to the oil, in fact I have never had a Laverda engine bearing fail ever! broken valves, melted pistons (quite a few) and blown head gaskets (pre copper type) but never an oil related issue.
superb jrestoration, you can do one of mine anytime you like!

Miguel, a Slater Jota engine is basically nothing else then a standard engine with higher compression pistons and 4/C cams. Nothing spectacular needed to upgrade any triple engine to that spec really. Even with the standard compression, 4/C cams help the bike to get a bit more midrange grunt and high end power. Just exchanging cams and adjusting valve freeplay, that's half way to the Slater Jota... ;-) Did that as a first start (for budget reasons, I even did the inlet cam first and later, when I had money again, I bought the exhaust cam...). Later, I upgraded to 1116ccm and a SFC-type head and some other modifications, but that is not really necessary. As you said: your island is so tiny that the extra power is not very often needed... ;)

Be careful Lothar, people have been shot for writing things like that.
