Hello
I have just bought a 1973 750SF at auction. It will "land" at my garage in a few days time.
Not running but "turns over" so its a bit of a punt but I took that into account with the price I paid.
It has an SFC RH crankcase cover (or the original has been adapted)
Apart from that its original, 18000 km on the clock. Could be correct.
No doubt I will be back here asking questions.

Yes that took my attention first but a close look led me to believe it wasnt that good a rep. I dont really know why. The 750 SF is what it is, an original bike that has not been messed with much (apart from that SFC RH crankcase cover)
The silencers are original (I think) but got scruffy so someone has painted them black in the past.
Whatever it will arrive in my garage soon and I can bring you all up to date.
 
Looks to be a very original SF1 to me. Not sure why the 'mix of bits' comment either. If the SFC RH cover (gearbox or starter cover?) is all that's changed, you're a lucky man. That mileage seems almost impossible for a 1973 SF.
 
It has landed.
Still looks good.
Some flaky wiring.
The right side engine cover is dry inside, not full of oil.
Carbs are cooking in my ultrasonic cleaner.
Applied a 12v battery pack, the "Beam" light lights but I think thats actually the Oil light ? :)
Nothing from starter but the solenoid connections are bodged it seems.
More fun over the weekend.
Needs:
New clutch cable old one has a "temp" repair in it
Rear light lens
One coil has its earth lead fractured - detached. One carb was partly off, maybe someone trying to fix the running on one cylinder caused by the coil earth...?
