Quite nicely. Fortunately there were no holes in the tank, so I used a bent metal rod to push it out from the inside, then used bondo to fill the small dents. Ended up lining the tank anyways because of the rust inside. Put filters on the fuel lines, but they never collected anything. Here's a shot from the other side from when I got it.

You don't line a tank because there's rust inside. Unless it's fibreglass, you line it because it's full of pin prick holes.
If it's rusty, get rid of the rust.
A lot easier to get rid of rust than to get rid of a liner.

It has landed.
Still looks good.
Some flaky wiring.
The right side engine cover is dry inside, not full of oil.
Carbs are cooking in my ultrasonic cleaner.
Applied a 12v battery pack, the "Beam" light lights but I think thats actually the Oil light ? :)
Nothing from starter but the solenoid connections are bodged it seems.
More fun over the weekend.
Needs:
New clutch cable old one has a "temp" repair in it
Rear light lens
One coil has its earth lead fractured - detached. One carb was partly off, maybe someone trying to fix the running on one cylinder caused by the coil earth...?

Before you touch the bike, read the workshop manual. It will avoid you making a mess.

That's a nice bike that's probably useable as it is with a spruce up.

There is no oil under the rh cover.
There is no oil light. A blue full beam and a red charge light.

The starter relay clicks but the engine doesn't turn over. Is the engine free to do so?

Yes correct it is the charging light.
The solenoid does not click but seems to have been disconnected.
Engine turns fine by hand.

Engine spinning over nicely on starter.
No spark.
I put 12v directly to the + of one coil bypassing any switches.
Checked all connections from points.
Checked coils (rear one, rh cylinder) these are the readings:
+ to - 4.6 ohms
Centre to + or - 6200 ohms
Bad coil?? I don’t have the spec to hand.

The + of the coils is inter-connected so connecting battery onto one will give power to both. You can check if the points are connected and the coils work by touching a screwdriver across the points while they are open and the coil has power and it should spark at the spark plug.

Carbs cleaned and rebuilt by Ducati Paddy, very good service.
Had it running OK ish...

Further investigations. Checking the static timing shows it was set at the A (Advance) mark not at the PM (TDC) mark.

This might (!) explain why it was kind of hard to start and ran kind of lumpy!

Next attempt at running it this coming weekend.
Date cert application in. DVLA application soon after that.
