NICE ‘JOTA’ MATE !

Was at a big biker meeting spot yesterday at The Raven Cafe, The Truck Stop Cafe and Ma Bakers Cafe which are all within 100 yds of each other at Prees Heath, Whitchurch, Shropshire. A friend of mine who is on Facebook just informed me that apparently my bike is featured on The UK Biker Cafe Site as best bike there ( photo attached ). Described as a ‘Jota’. Isn’t the model obvious ? I believe they are having a discussion on speeds of said bike. If anyone is on Facebook they may wish to enlighten them politely ! I have been thinking of hanging a placard on my Jarama, ‘Not a Jota’, every time I park up to avoid the time consuming explanations.

No way, put a Jota badge on it and you'll make an easy buck as well when time comes to sell.

The correct Placard is "NOTA JOTA" in the correct font. I believe someone out there has made some.

I have the same problem with the 76 3CL which is green, I parked it up at Devil's Bridge in Cumbria. A Geyser came up to me and said "shouldn't that be orange"?
I have decided that I will explain the difference to everyone who asks, it is a bit annoying but folk genuinely don't know about the Laverda marque except for the iconic Jota.

You’re quite right. In reality I am always very ready to explain and sing the praises. The motorcycle ‘rivet counter’, now that’s another story altogether !

Had a similar thing happen with the Mirage ........ two blokes walked by and one said to the other " A GREEN Laverda ????? ......

There are always " knowledgeable "people out there who cannot get their heads around the fact that Laverdas were available in all sorts of different colours .......

How get rid of the rivet counter? You- "Which Laverda do you have"? Them-"I haven't got a Laverda!"
I'm sure you'll know how to reply to that😡

And what a great area to ride motorcycles:) have you taken the Laverda over the Burway?
You’re right. I’m about 15 miles from The Burway on The Long Mynd, Church Stretton. Been up and down many times and many meets at local pubs. If in the area try The Bottle and Glass at Picklescott and The Bridges at Ratlinghope. For info The Burway is a relatively short but precipitous old drovers road starting in Church Stretton climbing The Long Mynd in South Shropshire. Due to the nature of the road and no barriers there have been many accidents and fatalities over the years.

In the day, Bike journo's articles on Laverda, fellow owner "have you read this rubbish in the magazine.." clutch so heavy only the strong could operate... theme followed on in the article, my response to him "shut up. all the other bike riders think we are demi gods riding the Laverda's" soon as others see us they are in awe or fear... we dont even need to start the motor... true. BTW named the bored trick 1200 " Jota Eater" sic j

You sure you weren't at Yellowstone Park? Only place I know of to find Geysers.

On the other hand ...... the geyser probably thought you were Paul Marx or someone of that ilk.
