Oil pressure question 1000 Jota

Piet, were those two silicone horrors the same engine, I will bet the head gasket didnt leak!
No Clem, different engines.

Top is a 750 crankcase, bottom is triple head gasket, obviously.

When warm, the 750 system tops out at around 1.5-2bar, with SFC-type pump. Triple shouldn't have much more, given it has a couple of plain bearings for the cams, but these have very generous clearance, nowhere near as tight as a plain-bearing crank or conrod.

Sadly, I don't have pics of all the silicone horrors I've found, some have been absolutely gobsmacking!

Here's another nice one, incorrect material used for the timing chain damper wheel. Bike bought from a well-known dutch classic bike dealer... hel mooie, fris geoverhaald.

The shit you find...

Hallo, can everbody translate it?

Könnte man meinen.

Some information on the subject of lubrication.
The Laverdas have pressure lubrication by means of a gear pump as in almost every car.
The pressure that a pump builds up depends on the flow rate and the flow resistance encountered by the system.
Since the roller bearing motors have a free outlet at the end of the oil lines,
no greater oil pressure builds up.
One might think.
The truth is that the oil pressure on my SFC 1000 is 0.5 bar at 800 rpm, measured behind the filter.
up to 4 bar at 6000 rpm with or without retrofitted full-flow oil filter between engine and oil cooler, measured with and without filter.
A gear pump generates as much pressure as the downstream system requires.
With a filter, you just have to increase the filter resistance.
However, this is not a problem.
