Orange

Which one, there apparently it half a dozen. This has done the rounds a lot over the years. And that doesn't include the different code numbers used in different paint systems. Just using a different coloured primer has an effect. This might be a good thread to collect the different opinions of this.

Just remember Orange Crush is American And Fanta is German ;o)

Personally I don't a damn what color you choose to paint your ride.

I did settle on GMC 70 Corvette Flame Red (Close to an Enzo Ferrari Color) because it stood the best chance of some Old Fart seeing me.

Now I'm an Old Fart ;o)

Ferrari Red does increase you chances of survival.

Red is a rather expensive paint!

Lowy was joking, I assume?, did get a few going though so well done Lowy, man after my own heart,

The lone o ranger
Looks good on my 3c but is different to fiat tractor orange
Should this be in the faq thread?

Lone'O'Ranger was sufficiently orange for a standard framed SF1 (ridden by Ken Watson and a little modified by Chris Cutler and Peter Campbell) to run a 1:48.6 at Phillip Island.  Must be a good colour!  :D
It's more dull than some of the more recent colour interpretations, but I think more in keeping with historical norms.  I don't really think the more eye-popping oranges seen now existed in the 70's, the SFC's were (in places) a dull gelcoat!
But yeah, there is no clear agreement on the "correct" orange at all!

Here is one (of many probably) paint formula  :D
Result comes from out of a "color scanner" on a genuine '74 SFC side cover.
Not Jota though so maybe irrelevant or off topic.

Yes, off topic.
You ought to know that there are plenty of Laverda oranges.

Quote by Lothar:

1.  From Laverda Club Italia:
Sikkens, RAL 2010 or 2008:  International orange
Pantone: Orange 021C

2.  From previous postings (with apologies and thanks to the original authors, whose names I carelessly omitted to record):
"Laverda orange is RAL 2004, 2008 or 2010 depending on who you ask! Wolfgang told me 2008, so I had samples made of both and matched to his 750 SFC. 2008 looked identical to me.  2004 is more in the burnt spectrum while 2008 is slightly burnt with a hint of tangerine.  I suppose the factory could have had different variations for different models and/or years."

Mein Gott, that's a quick time, Steve! I take it you're not talking about your SFC917 beast? Wouldn't that eclipse Drmsby's best on it at the Island?

Just how 'SF1' was this bike???
