oss

That?s the plan, yes, but these days nothing certain. Celebrating 40 years Laverda Club Nederland, 50 years SFC, the first Cor Dees Memorial Run and a 3 hour race, but waiting with green light until COVID situation improves.

Stay tuned..

You always wanted to visit Oss of course! The place where the SFC won its first 24 hour race, in June 1971.

Not sure if Claudio de Ceola?s (Dieter Reimanns) report ?bout the 24hrs of Oss 1969 had ever been shown on this forum ? but I like it.

Kind of chaotic, but IMHO it gives an authentic impression of the atmosphere that prevailed back then when an inexperienced manufacturer wanted to prove himself in competition ...

Thanks for that link Jo - an extraordinary insight into racing at Oss.  I have seen some film clips from those races and couldn't believe the little nadgery circuit: reading about it from a rider's perspective makes me wonder again about everyone's sanity!

Claudio de Ceola?s (Dieter Reimanns) report was published in 2003 in issue 3 in the magazine ?KLASSIK MOTORRAD? under the title GRENZERFAHRUNG. Although it?s in German, you can find some pictures here. The sources include also "van der Schalk", so it?s possible that some of the pictures came from Marnix? father.

Claudio aka Dieter is a crazy dog. I don't know him personally, but he is friends with a former colleague of mine. And even Claudio is not his real name ?

Cheers

I supplied most of the pics for the article. I met Dieter aka Claudio aka Klaus a few times. He has one big frustration, there are no action pictures of him on the Laverda other than in the pitlane.
He is very much an artist type of guy, hence the exotic name. He frequently raced in Holland with his Honda 450.
When the Laverda team returned in 1970, the Laverdas finished 1,2 and 3.

Sorry Marnix, that was an error in reasoning on my part! I assumed that he still had the pictures from 1969, so you were probably too young then.
I was in contact with him last year when I pointed him out the upper picture in the 'Laverda 750 La Diva' book on page 78 - he didn't knew this picture yet and was very happy.
:)
Cheers

In 1969 I was still dreaming about FS1, KS50 and Jamathis, the Laverda bug bit me in 1972, and it bit me bad.

Marnix

in 1969 I was riding an RGS!
a Rocket Gold Star made by the very, very  large BSA (bloody Sore Arse) corporation, the Laverda bug bit me in 1972 as well, and as Marnix there is no known antidote. After 48 years you cant even get parole.
