Also deserving a mention is Paul and Bruce's 5000K round trip to get down to Broadford.
2 dead batteries, a worn crank bearing, blown seal (no no its just ice cream...) busted earth cable, several road closures due to flooding and not to mention multiple hangovers, all just to be there in support of their buddy Red.
Nice work fellas.
Outstanding effort.
Twas a pleasure to be along for the ride for the short time I was there.

Absolutely chuffed that you're carrying on carrying the mantle, Red. Seeing the Mule destroy all comers except that big modern Triumph four (in the class above) was extremely satisfying. And for Matty to ride the wheels off it and keep it rubber side down for the entire season (true?) is a testament to his ability. Awesome stuff. Bring on 2023!!

a cylinder I think

we can generally beat that Speed Triple, we beat him at Phillip Island and Eastern Creek, we also took pole at Broadford but the new rear slick we installed for Qualifying and the races only lasted a couple of laps and after that no traction so he beat us at Broadford in the races but he is also in F3 which is the class above us

Is far more satisfying to beat a modern bike at tracks like PI and EC though, seeing a 44 year old engine smoke a modern Speed Triple at PI is just awesome
 
I did wonder where the new four cylinder Triumph had sprung from.

That is going really well. The speed triple has near on 180HP and is just under 200kg in road form so I assume a bit more power and less weight on the track. Speaks volumes for your work and your pilot's ability to get the best out of the bike. Well done all round.

After reading the earlier statement about having to compete with more modern bikes, with every known gadget available.

I was tempted to add that you guys should quit while you’re ahead.

But, the buzz from of seeing a 44year old engine smoking the modern bikes, sums it up.

Get’em going and give’em shit!

not certain what year model it is though, don't think it is a 2022 version so probably not at 180hp
probably couple of years older so would be around 150hp rear wheel

Paul gets the jump on us out of corners but we have the legs hence the bigger circuits help the Laverda
Main reason why I want more rear wheel horsepower, to stick it up that Speed Triple and the other F3 bikes

My mistake - was hard to hear the triple Trumpet over the Mule, which was always close :D Don't Triumph make any fours? My total ignorance ...
 
The original idea by I think Burt XXX a factory Designer in the late 1960s was modular engine design. A big 4-cylinder, then using 3 cylinders off that for a smaller bike, etcetera. Bloor followed that basic design where he bought the name and started again, but that didn't last long. What was funny was everyone was asking when they would remake a twin and the original answer was no twins from us. That also did last long either. The market wants what it wants.
