I arranged for a large package to be sent to Australia from the UK at the beginning of January. It arrived yesterday. Thankfully the recipient was a patient guy!no calendar yet Andre, expecting it to arrive in May![]()

Fours years paid up front, no goods and its Brexit?? I could have planted a petrol tank seed and waited for it to grow in that time.Had a response from Boba today, he has several issues with crossing the border (quarantain for 14 days each way), dramatic increase of shiping costs and partly no transportation due to no flights between countries (Australia). Brexit did not help either etc.
I feel these infos are honest and he is doing his best to safe us from way, way higher costs from his country by traveling several 100kms to dispatch from another country. He has sent some parts before eastern and some are still waiting to be dispatched (my tank included). He asked for some more patience as he can only transport a certain amount of boxes at a time.
so - please stay tuned, it does not seem to be bad will or so, he tries to deal with the circumstances given as best as possible. Let's also keep in mind that it takes 5 years cancer free to be half way sure it does not return. This isn't over yet...
I don't think he could survive without the up front money Paul, and I mean survive.Ordered SFC/ Barcalona tank, 500 side panels and paid up front as requested for 6 week delivery. Took 18 month's. Finally received late 2020.
Despite the frustration it was worth the wait as all items were of the highest quality. I was reluctant to paint them as the finish was perfection.
Perhaps he should only charge on completion.

Red, i know. You also know that he went through several (!) very serious (!!) health issues, starting with the poisoning from breathing in the fumes from the solvent, then the tumor which almost killed him and so on. He once showed up at Bikers Classics with a borrowed car, driving for more than 24 hours just to deliver parts and meets some people and to return the same 24 hours just 1 day later.Covid and Brexit have both happened in the last 14 months roughly, been waiting far longer than that and getting the same excuses, don't even bother sending him emails anymore
we had a large credit balance with Boba start of 2017 when we sent him more money and ordered more parts, I used to stock his kit so was buying large quantities from him
I also know he struggles with cash flow so in June 2019, even though we had received no parts at all, I decided to close one of my overseas bank accounts as not needed anymore being retired from the oilfield
When I closed that account sent him another 2,050 Euro
Still nothing
So far as I know, in recent years Patrick had a television celebrity customer/friend who helped with the cash flow. I visited his workshop about 3 years ago, it was very impressive, spotless and tidy with racks full of parts which didn’t indicate any shortage of cash or hand to mouth working. Several bikes were in various stages of completion as well as older bikes in for servicing and remedial work. In one corner was a Black Lightning which was very patina’ed - this was the Ehret Lightning which later sold for so much.Patrick Godet of Godet Egli Vincent fame had a strange attitude to cash flow.
You'd pay, a lot, when ordering an Egli Vincent and what you paid would pay for the making of the bike of the previous customer.
I don't know what happened to the last order when Patrick passed away.

Yep, the singer Florent Pagny invested heavily in the concern and is now on their web site noted as boss.P

Patrick was a very kind and welcoming host he will be missed. His workshop continues to do his good work.
website is working on this side of the ditchI noticed that I can't access Boba's website/page anymore. Any word on how his health is these days?
