Hello Paul! I wondered where you had gone. Last we chatted I was entering the cancer world with Hodgkin's. In remission like yourself..congratulations and "many years!!" All the best from the USA. And is this picture of you recent?

Wish you all the best Paul, and the ride with the ZX14 I fully recognize.
Most of my bike rides I do on the K1100RS, due to my knee and hip problems (wear out). But a few times a year I take the Laverda. Always a joy to ride and gives a good feel that you are living ;-)

Bloody hell Paul, just saw this and very happy to hear of the positive outlook after a big battle.  Like others, it had crossed my mind that you hadn't been here in a while, but I figured you were likely fettling the new shed, or looking for Bentley oil leaks or summat.  All the best for a continued recovery and a clear run!
 
Paul, let me know when your ready and we can meet in Nakusp and do some riding on our Laverdas.  Covid and cancer be damned.

BTW.....while the surgeons were in there did you have them do any "while your at it"???
 
Well done Paul - dodged a real bullet there (pancreatic cancer is very serious!!). Just picked up on this thread so happy belated birthday greetings to you and lets hope there are many more to follow. Take care, stay safe (the new modern idiom) and enjoy life.

Hi Paul - just stumbled on your post today... bloody hell!  I hope the recuperation goes as smooth as possible for you.  Don't hesitate to reach out to me (403-819-0974) if you need an extra set of hands for helping around the house or errands around town.

Regarding a reunion ride in Nakusp - count me in.

Naksup is a beautiful mountain town situated on HWY 6 in the Kootneys 1/2 way between HWY #3 and the Trans Canada HWY #1, Castlegar to Revelstoke.

It has a big Lake and I'm sure Wolfgang either has a boat or access to one.

I was last in Nelson and Napsup back in 1972 and wanted to settle there but circumstances beyond my control brought me back to Northern Ontario. Robert Hume (My Grandmother's Brother) X-Owner of the Hume Hotel in Nelson and retired Mayor of Camrose Alberta was my Great Uncle where I actually met him. With Family ties I did not have to pay to stay at the Hume Hotel; working for Chromolly at the time (an American Co.) I did gift the hotel with Free Photographic advertising brochures ;o)

In my opinion the tourist trap of the Okanagan Valley doesn't compare to the Freedom and Beauty of the Kootneys.

Between 71 to 73, I was 24, owned a 750 SF0 and Dodge Challenger 340 Magnum and crossed Canada about 5 times between Montreal to Vancouver Island- NEVER seen the East Coast or the Atlantic Ocean ;o(

Had a close Newfie friend, Don Young, whom rode a Norton Commando and a Volvo P1800E from Parsborough Nova Scotia - Was killed much too young in a car accident in Lac Du-Bonnet Manitoba - He wasn't driving - He was much too good of a driver !

Really SAD, although he was a hound with the woman whom loved him dearly, he married and died with his wife pregnant - His only kid. His Brother in law survived whom was driving.

Don, although a hound with woman, had a devilish smile and wit that would light up the room and one of my best friends - R.I.P.

I remember taking a route back when in mid January in a storm and have to say it was scary in my 72 Challenger.

Wishing you the best on your Birthday Paul. Thanks for such a great forum on Laverdas. Empowering and engaging. I feel like I can tackle things knowing this lot is out there - house bound and Laverda forum is so better than re-runs of baseball or golf. Hey - I am interested in learning more about Naksup gathering.  I've always wanted to venture up North. I saw Wolfgang reference and at some really nice Motorcycle gatherings down here in Calif (Quail Motorcycle Gathering) I met some Laverda enthusiasts that told tales of treks to the Northern hemisphere on Laverdas to his place. And they'd fix up the bikes that made it and such. I mean they all made it. They were Laverdas!  So - preposterous to think I could get up there? Let's see!  But first on the technical forum I have an issue to sort out concerning electrics conked out and eagerly awaiting investigation that shall take the advice froml ideas/sugs from you all.  Cheers. Henry: Yes, HWY 3 but not necessarily the chosen the route. I don't know boarders; Just maps, towns and HWY's and the wonderful people I've met ;o)
