Protruding electrode spark plugs

I ran B9ES in my jota for a while when I couldn't get 8s. I was expecting them to get all black and foul up but the bike ran perfectly well on them. I think Clem's right that these old tractors are pretty tolerant.
Except that i keep reading about triple owners on here fouling plugs at regular intervals - that's probably as much too much choke as anything. No way I'm running 8s while 9s work just fine.

Ive run B7Es with not discernible effect. Wanted some better plug cleaning for shorter runs. looked fine less soot and not sign of over heat. plan was to go back to 8's for big runs.
Im running B8ES with throttle map off TPS and have reduced IJ to 48 and now have gray plugs all the time. O2 sensor says I'm at 12.5 for first 1/3 of throttle where IJ has effect.

Last trip to stupid cheap they didn't have any NGK plugs and couldn't say when they will. Seems they now carry Bosch plugs.
Can remember using Bosch back in the 70s, W260T2 for my SF2. Wanting plugs for the triple I didn't know what to buy and they couldn't tell me the equivalent for B8ES so left empty handed. Anyone know what Bosch plug is suitable?
Always used 9s in the SFC and 8s for the triple.

B9 was = to W260T2. B8 would be close to W240T2 - they changed the designation on Bosch plugs about 30 years ago I think, but should be easy to sus the new number. Wonder where all the NGK plugs are? I have a couple set aside for the Q.

Be aware that some NGK plugs sold on-line are fake. Cheap imitations that will fail in no time andf probably damage your engine. There are websites that show you how to spot the difference.

I've found Denso plugs to be a suitable alternative to the stock spec Champions... I've always been wary of NGKs, imho their heat ranges do not coincide with those of Champion. The Denso 22 and 24 plugs replace the Champion N3 and N2 respectively. Densos have several different suffixes for different electrode shapes but the number defines the heat range.

Unfortunately, Champion plugs are becoming harder to find, they have been well and truely pushed out of the business.

See the way Champion numbers go down for colder while everyone else goes up for colder!! Bloody confusing.

Maybe the Denso 22 and 24 = the old Bosch 220 and 240, so a Denso 26 would be = 260? Just guessin'!

I use BP8ES in the Mirage: occasionally BP7ES. Tickover and throttle response from tickover seem better than with B8ES or B7ES. Also use N2C in my Triumph triples and N3C in the twins...
