Dear all
I'm close to end up the electrical plant on my SF1.
Yesterday evening, warming all up , two problems came up...
The rear break switch seems doesn't work, in spite of I checked it with a tester before the assembly, once on the bike, not always it works properly pushing the pedal.
Mistery of faith, anyway I would like to replace it.
Have you any suggestion on some modern switch compatible? I'm able to made a "L" frame if necessary.

The original part is still available, for example here: Break-switch or break-switch 2

Usually you only have to clean the contacts with Contact 60 or, if necessary, with WD40.

It is important to use a spring as a connection and to set it in such a way, that the contact is only triggered when you brake properly/stronger.
Make sure, that your mass on the mostly rubber-mounted taillight is ok.

Thanks for your answers and links. Yes the rear lamp works properly. I left the switch in wd40 some days ago, but I fear the pin is buggered in some way.

One more question: any chanche for purchasing the rubber shield?

Yes, only for the taillight and only if that is mounted in rubber (as it should be).

You can save some cables in your wiring loom if you have always „+“ at the both lights at the rear, if ignition is „on“.

So normal light is allways shining and the break light is switched with only one (-) cable coming from the break switch.
Works fine since over 40 years.
Today with a reliable Led-bulb it‘s perfekt.

I didn't do anything and this evening is working... the matter is in the pin for sure.
I would like to say thanks to Thomas, the links are very useful anyway.

I'm very close to buy a 3D printer with the aim to replace some non-structural plastics parts, and, using TPU filament for replacing even some rubber items (i.e.: bulb sockets control lights, rubber springs for side crankcase and so on, maybe even this shield).
Have you ever had some experience with this kind of technology?
 
Lost in translation, Lav..rda, but can you explain what you mean by 'rubber springs for side crankcase'. Puoi spiegare in italiano se vuoi e ci posso tradurre.
 
Yes Thomas, for sure.
I was just kidding, I'm aware there are different ways to replace components, and for this reason I wonder if someone has ever tried to replace some parts with a 3D printer and, purposely, using a TPU filament, material for some aspects similar to rubber.

Hi Thomas,

have you found a good LED P21/5 buld that will work properly in the old (-73) round taillight? I searched around quite a bit until I found one, and that ended up being dimmer than a 30 year old bulb where the glass had already turned gray/black inside....
