Thanks so much! You can adapt many throttle tubes - a bit of grinding and filing may be necessary. I used a Japanese MX barrel (Kawasaki KX250 I think) and ground it down and drilled a new cable nipple hole so it had a rising rate, ie normal operation at low throttle settings and lifting the slides more quickly as the twist progressed. Fitted into the std ND housing. Combined with lighter carb springs it worked really well.
Did you post on the wrong thread, Vince? They sell kits where there are different shaped cams that vary that affect Q, they also sell bilt-knurled alloy tubes with integrated bearings if you're really keen.
Let me check them out. Thank you!No, why. They make those Generic Throttle housing cam kits for all kinds of bikes as an accessory, especially for powerful race bikes to vary the way your power can be applied. If it isn't helpful then ignore it.

Thanks Paddy, I’ve been looking at the GTs as well, since I know some share the controls.Retro
If you go down the Suzuki route be aware that for example the GT380 will not have starter button but a GT550 will although the switch units look the same.
The first one is, but if you scroll down they make dozens of kits for all kinds of bikes. Yes, there are no specific Laverda ones but there never are. You can adapt one with 3 or 4 various cam shapes you can swap into its housing that changes the ramp for the throttle cable just like Q did, they allow a slow or fast progression to tame aggressive acceleration. One of the local Oz race engineers, Phil Talon who ran the Suzuki race program in oz offered the same service by glueing bits to the plastic tube where the cable ran, I got that done to make my 3c throttle into almost a 1/4 turn when it ran Dels. Great easy mod. That is a fly by wire Panigale V4 throttle at about £450 ? Thats not going to work with any Laverda
Any ideas where I can get a throttle tube replacement that doesn't cost crazy money and fits OEM switchgear?
Mine is all mangled.
In fact, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with yours. I often grind that last "ring" off since it doesn't allow me to fit the grips I like.Any ideas where I can get a throttle tube replacement that doesn't cost crazy money and fits OEM switchgear?

Suzuki GT 750 is a straight fit. Some even use a twin cable push pull setup than can be useful for some carbs.Retro

Can you do a quick pull version?DIY. Provided you have the opportunity to use a 3d printer. The print file should be found in the library.
