I will be returning to Central California in the spring to empty our storage unit prior to our move to France. Because I am going to be restricted to an A2 license for two years and will be unable to ride this bike, plus the fact that I will be 74 by the time that I can, I have decided to dispose of it.

I was the second owner, did a chassis rebuild and had the frame powder coated silver blue and the plastic repainted in the late 1980’s and enjoyed it for the next decade. Unfortunately, life got in the way and it was parked around the turn of the century. Thus it will need a complete refresh. I did a cosmetic refresh with deep cleaning, polishing and a repaint in 2022 but was unable to start it due to the MotoWitt pickup wiring being dry and cracked. At least this is my diagnosis. All fluids have been changed except for the forks and the carbs disassembled and cleaned. Thete is a new chain and battery. IIRC it has under 30,000 miles.

The bike also has emulators in the forks and an Axtell cam installed by Lance Weill. At least he said he put one in: if you know of Lance you know what I am talking about! I do not have the S/N at hand, nor can I recall what year it is. I will get all of that when I return to California along with more pictures. These are the only photos I have.IMG_0036.jpegIMG_0037.jpegIMG_0035.jpeg

I will only be in America for two months and would like to have found a home for this machine before I arrive. Buyer must be able to pick it up or make arrangements for shipping.

I realize that this is a project, thus I have low expectations of what it is worth. Honestly, I just want it to go to a good home. So make me an offer, the money will go to the purchase of a smaller Laverda in Europe.

Unless an auction vs an offer was the intention of your post...
I'm off to the local bar to boast about my prospects of owning another Laverda as I'm the high bidder...

I thought that it was implicit that asking for offers meant the seller was going to accept the highest offer, not the first. Or am I unclear on the concept? 🤔

It all depends on how offers are presented & your terms of sale. If my first offer met an expectation we'd be done. If my first offer motivated a counter then we're negotiating a sale. If offers are presented via DM- a hybrid 'sealed bid' perhaps. Not an auction yet w/o an end date (in seven months) & a higher bid. I'm committed to the cause!

Whatever the sale type, it’ll be a good buy, without all the hype of a classic vehicle dealer.
Good luck Alzero, must have been a tough decision 👍
I was very reluctant to even consider it, but once I went there the pro-sale factors far outweighed the cons. It just made much more sense to bring over the money and turn that into another Laverda than to try to keep this one. Add in the complications of an A2 license for two years and a heavy RGS to register in Europe and the decision is obvious.

I just hope I’ll still retain a bit of Laverda credibility during the in between time!
