RGS - SFC 1000 turn signals?

They do require periodical lubing and can be adjusted with the special washer and the flat nut to eliminate most slop. Renewing the bush and re-dressing the pivot is no big deal.

Yeah, of course we're all maintenance champs, running around the bike with an oil can every weekend... :rolleyes: With a bare minimum of maintenance, mine have now reached the 100000km mark and still show no unacceptable slop.

The longer rear indicators fitted to certain market bikes do sag and look rather sad. The more common shorter ones hold up well, mine are still fine. A little bingle 2 years ago used up my last spares for the front left indicator.

Last summer I bought an RGS which has turned into a bigger project than I was expecting. The engine is back in the frame and the bike is back up on its wheels so - hopefully - I should be riding it soon.
Over the weekend I discovered that the front indicators are in a really poor condition. I have plastic welded the black plastic of the indicators but there is not much I can do with the orange indicator lenses (they were glued in place as the fixing lugs were snapped off).
Using Le Mans V indicators is mentioned above - would they work on the front of a RGS?
 
Bin the originals, head to the local motorcycle emporium and get some decent, after market items. The original RGS indicators are crap IMHO.

Take a look at BMW K100 rear indicators (they use them as front on naked bikes also) they are 80’s period correct,look better than Standard Rgs units and won’t disintegrate.
 
I know these are not for the purists - but took off the original indicators and replaced with mini ones. Mounted on 5mm insertion rubber to fit the fairing recesses.

I've ordered some replacement indicators off a Ducati Monster however those for a K100 look a better option - and the possibility of replacement Laverda ones could be even better.
 
I tend to agree - not ideal - but they do the job and I cannot see them when riding. You are not the first to make this comment....!
