So what an amazing day from a low point in the warm up for race 2 then the bike failing to proceed after we did a battery change so more troubleshooting hmm SOS out to Jimmy but we couldn’t really find an issue hmm
So we ended up swapping out the fuse and bypassing the on off switch.
Plan was Matt would go out in the third race of the BEARs and circulate and see how it went as due to the previous DNF he would start at the rear of field
That’s when the fireworks started it turned out to be one of the best races ever to witness
He fir once got an awesome start and made up quite a few places by turn one.
On lap 2 he went past Bellestro sideways onto the straight so already up to P2 in class and off after the flying Triumph and on the last lap blasted past it on the straight to take a first in class
Even Chris the suspension guy ( so perhaps no need for Terry now as XXX suspension seems to have adopted team Redax into his fold ) came down and couldn’t stop raving about how awesome that race was guess he knows when he sees a winner imagine how it will be once the suspension is sorted
Then so it appeared the issue sorted in the second leg of the Hansford a seven lap epic another good show was put on and he brought it home again in 2nd from a field of a lot of Jap 4’s and pre 90 dukes to see the mule two wheel drifting onto the straight was awesome

So I decided to wait for the 4Th race of the Bears which was quite late in the day
Was it with waiting for we’ll that’s a no brainer.. not content with another class win Matt brought the mule home in first oh and to top it off set a class lap record to boot along the way.
Not bad when you factor in it’s his first race meet on the mule
He did ride the other bike at Broadford pre Covid.
Now the highlight of the weekend is a real tough one but it’s gotta be the smile on Reds face after the last race I reckon. It was also great to see Max there and she was just as happy for the outcome
Also a good show for Herman considering g it’s the first time he’s seen the frames he’d crafted out on track.
Good to see a number of the Qld guys there.
As for photos only a few as too dam busy enjoying the day and then the obligatory Corona courtesy of Cosi who by the way put in a sterling weekend on the Triiumph and won his class reckon he’s riding the best I’ve seen him this weekend
Top show all round can’t wait for Darwin
