seeking a bulb holder

here is a close up of the bulb holders for the idiot light panel inside 1200TS/RGA/Jota120 instrument pod.

the holder that is exposed is what I am looking for, I have two sets  apart and one of them does not have the charge light fitted, I am sure that this was original, as everything inside seems untouched and undisturbed, so..... 1200TS series 1 definitely has a charge light, I don't know about series 11, RGA or Jota 120,

I have two clock sets currently open and one has eight wires into the plug and the other has seven. I want to add the missing bulb, and its holder, does anyone have some badly smashed clocks that I can rob the part from (for a generous remuneration of course) or could a clever computer savvy gent point me in the right direction of new ones? much as Jouni did with the required and missing plug!

No probs Clem, sorry I couldn't help.
As an aside, my series 2 TS has no charge light holder or bulb fitted, it only has seven wires to the plug and this mirrors the wiring diagram in the dinky little book that came under the seat.
The last wiring diagram in the second Green Book, shows a Gen Light taken from pin 1 of the Regulator box, (Blue and Red wire) so If that is correct and there is a pin 1 on the regulator box, I can see no reason why it couldn't be retro fitted.
My beastie is in about a zillion bits at present, so I can't have a play about to prove or disprove that. Let me know if it works for you, it might be a useful addition. :) 
 
thanks again dave, it would seem that series 1 1200TS has a charge lightand series 11 1200TS does not, the series 1 of course has a two wire Bosch alternator and the series 11 has a  3 wire Nippon Denso alternator, and as you say the extra lamo can easily be fitted, especially as the one in question is getting a new harness and plug.

so what about Jota 120 and RGA Jota? do they or do they not have charge lights?, come on Simon R and Chris B, you both have at least one 120 Jota and greedy balls has two!

I don't think the Jota 120 has a charge light Mr Clemans! Photo is not of my bike though;

thanks Mr Ralph, its looking like the only one with a charge light (and using those clocks) is the series 1 1200TS,just the RGA  to go, and we are done
anyone own an RGA?

Looking at images of RGA's on the internet, the Pod/Binnacle appears to have no separate Gen light. If the RGA uses the same generator and combined rectifier/regulator as the Series 2 TS and the 120, then it ain't gonna have one either.

The manufacturer of that instrument binnacle must think that motorcyclists are an intellectually challenged lot. They thought it necessary to  write "IGNITION" with an arrow pointing to the key.
 
bulbs and bulb holders are now on the way, it does seem a very tiny saving to have the charge light deleted when its not required, I would have thought that all the options would be there to make things simple, and just not use what is not needed, there are four positions for idiot lights, on Labv's only three are used, it seems only the series1 TS's have three in use, the others have only 2 of the four, but they came later, and not very many series 1 TS's were made, although I really do not know what that number is.

Interesting....I've assumed my TS1200 was a series 2, I was told that my bike had gone to South Africa straight from the factory in 1981, my frame and engine number 3260.  the register shows that 3258 was also a south African registry bike so maybe part of a small batch.....anyhow, mine has the charge light marked and it works. I had to replace a blown parking light, checked the wattage with a magnifier and it was a south African bulb...obviously a replacement and bears out what I was told by Keith a few years ago. So is mine series 1 or 2 ??...answers on a postcard...
 
if it has a round alternator cover its a series 1 and includes the ignition triggers.
if it has an egg shaped alternator cover its a series 11 and the ignition is on the left side  (primary cover)

don't do postcards (or Christmas cards) so I will say this is the worlds only series two with the ND box of clocks that DOES HAVE a charge light

Yup...series 2 with ND clocks, with charge light labelled and working...now it appears I have the worlds only...what's it worth...including the Bosch headlight  :LOL: :LOL:
