the front brakes on my Honda Pan European are crap (single sided twin piston calipers on sliding rails, stainless discs) I have rebuilt them with stainless pistons and they are still crap, they just stay being crap instead of getting progressively even crapper and then seizing. I found the front suspension much too soft so made and fitted some top hat spring pretensioners, this cured the soft front suspension and aided hugely the massive diving, Honda's anti dive mechanism on LH caliper does not work and is only for show, but what it did do is make the brakes even worse, because before (when it dived badly) there was a micro second for the calipers to bite, now they cant even do that, I am not sure which of the two I prefer, so a mod is planned to fit four piston calipers ex SP1, easy on the RH side, but difficult on the LH side due to the so called ant dive. I might even put a car caliper on one disc only and ditch the second.
