Laverda SFC Replica
Bid for the chance to own a Laverda SFC Replica at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #149,968.
Why would that be?I reckon one of Red's cranks would be far superior than an original 74 SFC crank. SFC frames are still heavy. Never stripped mine so couldn't say what they weight.
SFC cranks are a far cry from a stock SF crank, Rob. The big press fit centre pin on SFCs is only possible because they use integral one-piece web-crankpin as per triples. My SFC crank is as light as I'd want it. Carillos are definitely an upgrade.Lightened, balanced perfectly and carillo rods. His Ross Pistons are probably half the weight if my 1200 Ross Pistons are anything to go by.
It's 50 years later.
Not saying there is anything wrong with a SFC crank.
Misconstrued your earlier comment Rob ... "I reckon one of Red's cranks would be far superior than an original 74 SFC crank."I wasn't referring to a stock SF crank.
I know the difference between the 2.
All I'm saying is Reds cranks are manufactured with the knowledge and expertise benefit of 50 years of advancement.
As I said, nothing wrong with a SFC crank
Of course. Far from the near US $ 100 000 a rusty "original" example sold for 6 or 7 years back. That's cheap for a 74 SFC! Seriously.
Maybe at a mere US$39k they'll take it out regularly and thrash it ... unlikely ...Of course. Far from the near US $ 100 000 a rusty "original" example sold for 6 or 7 years back.
Prices have collapsed never to rise again. But writing that brings comments from "motorcyclists" who must ride their wallets rather than their motorcycles.

Unlikely indeed.Maybe at a mere US$39k they'll take it out regularly and thrash it ... unlikely ...
