My comments were based on the 1974 replica SFC that started this thread. I think the crank in Piet's works SFC was a rare one indeed ... but didn't survive in its heavily tricked-up form.

I have 2 engines with 1973 works crankshafts, both different, and different from the production 1974 ones. One has the scary ultra slim conrods, the other one has rods that are very similar to the 1974 SFC ones (great!). Both cranks have a single row cam chain sprockets. Found a 1973 works cylinder head with a duplex cam sprocket. Go figure..

Maybe they used the same logic as: a spare clutch cable tied to the existing, just in case …. Ok, I’ll fuck off!
