Those Prusas are great little printers. Many bigger ones are designed off them. Really good purchase mate.Prusa i3 Mk3S+ Also using the Prusa slicer, but my stone-age computer doesn't support their graphics, so I'm doing a lot of guestimating...

Ok so what you do is draw the item in 3D.But surely creating the coordinates for an SFC selector cover is incredibly difficult without scanning? A slicer can only add a layer and if you have to manually input the shape of each and every layer it would take longer than making a cover from a slab of billet with a die grinder?! No doubt you can use the software to extrapolate but if you want an exact replica, how would you go about it? Would you use the same method you did with the alternator cover? So scanner is essential or not?
Ooh. March 14 is my birthday too. Perhaps I should come up with some kind of theory about the universe.
you got that right.... some times i wish I had two printers!Last night I watched a TV program about Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. While I struggle to wrap my head around the mathematics of 4-dimensional spacetime, I'm now certain that 3D printing is mis-named. It's actually 4D with the 4th dimension being time. Especially since it takes so bloody long to print anything.![]()
You could start with "it is " ( it being the universe) because I am ( I am... namely you) ....... so "it is, because I am" is the theory... and thats because so many things in your life revolve around you..... could be a good place to start pondering. I can help with valentines letters and wedding proposals tooOoh. March 14 is my birthday too. Perhaps I should come up with some kind of theory about the universe.
Remember that the bible starts with the second letter of the hebrew alphabet, beth, not the first.

Last year there was an interview with ABC Radio and a yank from NASA about 3D printing. An Aussie bloke called in and asked the yanks what they were planning to do with 4D printing. The yank asked for the interview to be stopped, there was silence and the interview started again shortly after ............. on 3D printing.
Time will tell .........You do realize this means the Yanks are well onto 4D printing and they don't want the secret out ...... yet.
