SFC frame coating repair

Not sure about the numbers, Rob. As mentioned, I thought I may have read about it somewhere. I'll see if I can grab a couple of photos when I'm back in the shop.
The theory about "batch" numbers sounded plausible enough to me!

I'd be amazed if the factory were that organised Interesting theory, but there was no number on my tank. Don't know if it was original tho'.

Here are the numbers I was referring to. Pardon the mess of the fenders, they haven't been cleaned up yet!
I didn't find a number on the seat/tail piece (possibly placed inside) and didn't check the tank yet. There wasn't a number inside the fairing.

I had those on some NOS disc brake side panels I had.
Don't remember any on my SFC which had it's original paint.

Most interesting. Maybe a bodywork change transition? Numbers dictate model?

Could be, Chris! Still, the numbers seem to vary from bike to bike. A mystery!
