In oposite to the past, in the last years you can get really gut replica frames which come really close to the original.
Even the stamps are looking mostly correct.

So you come to situations where three different original SFC?s had the same number (and the same contact-person when they where buying).

my frame was galvanized, in a company that does galvanization for a small price, and the result is good, but it had to pierce the tubes as Wolfang says. and the end result is good

Wow. OP here. Thread drift much? 

Anyway, when I said that I had found someone who was willing, but with reservations, he mentioned the bleed-through that someone had mentioned earlier in this thread, and elaborated on the causes (welded pipes without a way for the tube to "breathe").

Another poster had said that SFC frames were drilled to facilitate the zinc plating, and when I told the plater this, he did not seem to believe me. I think he was envisioning a conventional diamond-shaped bicycle/motorcycle frame, which would require a few more holes. SFC frame seems to have fewer, longer tubes. One hole in each tube should be adequate.

If the earlier info is correct (e.g., Laverda placed the drain holes in the correct locations) I think I will be just fine.

Onward and upward. And I will check back in once it's done (may be a while).
