yes the pistons are of unequal size, but there is a stainless retaining plate above the pads which has a directional arrow on it, and this is reversable, of course there is an engineering reason for the pistons being a differring size to each other, but when you see six piston calipers (ie much longer pads) they are always the same size piston, I have worn out two sets of pad and it is not possible to see with the naked eye if they wear unevanly. The whole point is that no matter which pistoin moves first they none of them do diddly squat untill there is pressure in the fluid,as contact is made, and all surface of all pistons and all pads are square, and barely kissing the rotor, that is when youi build fluid pressure with the handlbar lever, anyway i might reverse them at some point and see what it rides like.

PS Grant, I was not pointing out that the V6 had calipers of the 4 piston variety (it doesnt) I was pointing out that its heavier (than mine) calipers are mounted in front of the forks.
yes, bugger-all noticeable with the braking.Dellortoman said:If you reverse the forks Clem, you'll probably notice bugger-all difference.
Cam,, this is what I was referring to. !! not the farken looks, which is, yes, also faarked.Dellortoman said:I quite agree Mark. I reckon they look crap too. But there's no convincing Clem of that. That man has no sense of aesthetics![]()
