Spark Plug failure

Thomas,

The Iridium plugs are wasted money on our old bangers, Laverda or any other old air cooled hack!
Stick to a regular B8ES or BP8ES with resisted caps and you should be firing on all 3 cylinders!

Thinking about my previous post, and concerned that some may take my view as biased:
My brand new boat motor had NGK's, two out of three shit themselves in the first two hours of running. Put spares in, within 10 minutes I was drifting down the Brisbane river, with the motor refusing to run.

Next day, took the boat back to the engine supplier, he changed the plugs to Champions (no other work was done to the motor), has not missed a beat since, 52 hours now. Just goes to show, they can all troublesome.

Pat, I have this problem with my Jota's from time to time if they sit and find that generally if I use 98 petrol and the bike sits for a couple weeks thats it out goes a plug usually the centre one, a hit with the wire brush and it goes again, just a bloody great inconvenience.
I have found if I use 95 petrol the problem isn't as great.

Maurice,
I get the same problem with my Series 2 which also has NGKs fitted. Dont think it is specific to one cylinder in my case.

just been doing a bit of investigating regards the N2 and I'm told that it has been superceded by N2C ?? I think the only diff is that it has a copper core..
