special SFC1000

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. really nice to find so many fans.
After 2 SFC1000, sold about 5 years ago, I'm doing a special SFC 1000, starting with a RGS, without altering the baseline, but renewing it technically (wheels, brakes complete, fork, DMC, 3 in 1).
the work is comical about a year ago, and now is finishing.
I'm waiting for the painting of the SFC parts.
I'm glad that's just what I wanted ...
there is only one part that does not satisfy me and I would like to change: the rear tire!
I changed the original rear wheel with a 3.5-ray, but the tire is the original 120.
I would like at least a 150-160 (does anyone know if it enters the arm of the RGS?), But here in Italy is an almost impossible thing, does anyone know if this is possible without spending too much with the TUV in Germany. It would be complicated?
thanks
if I can get some pictures up there

Hello Jota1000,
Nice project, let's see it when finished too.
With the rgs arm, there should be room for a 140 (don't know about 150), and the rim fits that.
the sfc1000 arm can adopt a 150. But rgs arm possibly stiffer. So maybe a third arm, like metmatchex or alike?
Maybe you need a 520 chain?
What is your choice of rear drive chain?

Take a peek at old threads, there have been debate about this, and pics too.

Very nice forks, are they Marzocchi 45mm?
Did you brace the frame further to help bigger brakes and forks? And maybe bracing where hte airbox is?

Cheers,
Jacques.

Hi Jota, a 150 section rear tyre is the biggest that will fit with a standard set up, you may need to run with a 520 chain in order to clear the tyre. Easyest option being as you are using spoked wheels is to have a four inch rim laced to the rear hub. Are those Guzzi forks?

Hi, thanks for the advice ...
yes the fork is a Marzocchi 45mm (of Guzzi), but you know something about the approval of a larger tire size (can not get it in Italy)

Hi,thank you, but mine is a RGS while yours is signed SFC.
maybe if I met someone with RGS, which amended the measure to the rear, it would be easier, but I do not know what to do.

I  manage to squeeze a 160 slick on a 3.50" rim into the RGS swinger.  Too wide on a 4.00" rim!  Max on a 4.00" is 150.  Needs a #520 chain in both cases though...
