Starter Clutch 1971 750 SF

Whack the body down on a lump of hardwood, HARD!, the stuck plunger just MIGHT budge enough to get hold of.

Picks, pliers, magnets, whatever... been there, most failed. A 2% success rate at most.

Drill out the rivets holding it all together, extract the inner part, extract the plug of the offending plunger and shove that out. Clean and de-burr everything and re-assemble with new rivets. Use a press to properly install the rivets. Renew plungers as required, install new rollers and springs as a matter of course.

This is often quicker than spending futile hours trying to extract the plunger. Just need to accept the fucker ain't movin'. ;)

Just succeeded in extracting one from a mate's clutch using the hardwood method - a little loosening with the amazing PB Blaster (as seen on TV - written on the can!). and out she popped. All the others were out and all the springs were in shreds. Plungers look fine.

I can also highly recommend the new CNCd ramp insert Piet sells - they are the biz if you think your clutch's inner gizzards are cactus.
