I think he just listened to his trainer who said: "Man, you've got to ride your butt off to win this time or you are out!" ::)

Currently three colors in particular come to mind.

When I bought my 750 SF1 in 1980, it was light green metallic. That would look something like this:

Laverdamania says "Vert clair m?tallis? - Light metallic Green - PPG fleet color 45801", in the forums of this world is spoken by a Ford
color which should come close to this light green.

Cheers
Jo

I can't find anything online from the colour description 'Light metallic Green - PPG fleet color 45801'. Does anyone have an auto colour code for it. Where did you find the swatch to colour your sample bike Jo? I have a friend doing some mockups and I can send him swatches but can't find this one (which I like a lot).

Mine was painted to match a PPG colour as PPG codes were not available in Europe.
I can't recall the actual PPG code but here is the colour, a metallic light green.
Closest match was a Honda colour, mist green from memory.

Grant,
the colour you've shown is different from the one I meant and with which my SF1 came with, when I got it in 1980. On the example picture I fiddled
in photoshop for my 3c, I tried to match this colour as good as possible - still leaves a lot to be desired though ...

I found a picture on the webs ? this should be the colour I tried to match:

Some folk mentioned that there should be a Ford metallic colour (Fiesta?) with a similar light green ? but I didn?t follow up on this.

Quentin,
as stated above, unfortunately, I?ve no equivalent color code for the light green as I followed the light blue route then.

Cheers
Jo

Shaun,
yes, this kia-colour hits the hue pretty well! I was searching for exact this picture - but couldn't find it ...

It"s more vibrant than the pic, full name is Kia Soul "greenish yellow 2y"

Thanks everyone. It's a tricky colour to glean from pics, as it can look 'too' yellow in some light (as the one of the SF0 highlights) - and even in the pic with the two sidecovers, one looks more green to the other ones more yellow. I also really like the pale misty blues/greens.

I also really like your misty green colour, Grant. Do you have a paint code for it? One issue I'm going to have is deciding on a frame colour - I really like silver frames, but too much (body work and frame) won't work.

All I know about the colour is posted there. I can't recall the PPG reference as it was almost 10 years ago.

VW did a metallic green not dissimilar to the SF in ?74 and Grant?s bike?s colour is not unlike a Citroen colour of 73/74
