Hello Paul yes you are right, overall lengths are there, however not the length of each threaded part - do you happen to know what they are?
I can give you the length out of the head once I've finished my omelette.

Threaded part of the cam pillar studs is 16.3 give or take and the exhaust studs, 10.8mm.
I made the omelette with a bit of diced potatoes and some diced mushrooms.

Not usually, crankcase to cylinder head studs, for example.
Just asking about exhaust studs and camshaft support blocks

Short of taking one out, I can't say for sure, Russ, but, in my experience, not usually threaded equally at both ends.
You can measure the thread in the head with a depth gauge.

Most engine studds have a longer thread on the ‘fixing’ ends.

that's not an omlette its a Tortilla and not the Mexican type but the Spanish type.
Russ, no harm whatsoever in both applications using threaded rod, (ie studding) no one sees them, the threads are rolled not cut and are stronger, I use hexagon hand made, closed end, sleeve nuts for the exhausts so that there is no exposed threads outside the nut, and hence no rusting, I also lockwire them via 1.5 mm drilled holes.
