I have a mate who works on charter yachts. One of his mates, Dave, got severely burnt in a boat fire at sea. Something like 90% of his body was affected and he was in hospital for months getting skin grafts etc. He is one of the most severe burn cases anywhere who has survived. He's now known as Crispy Dave, which is a bit wrong as a nickname under the circumstances, but he's OK with it.
