Alright, now we are in the shit.

Australian Government is going to renovate our Collins Class subs, because the French haven’t finished making our $90 billion dollar submarine purchases.

And the ‘six’ Collins class subs we have are getting a cut and polish “Due to the situation with China”

Yep, that’ll help. Is like sneaking up on a deer wearing stilettos.

Bit of a story behind that. One of the O boats was doing an inshore ops off Botany Bay when it ran into the bottom and damaged the steering gear. The mob who had the contract to extend the Sydney Airport runway thought they would save some money and instead of dumping waste further out at sea, dumped it much closer to shore than was stipulated. The correct position was marked on the chart but the 'illegal' site wasn't, hence the boat bounced off the bottom.
A lot of the O boats had already been decommissioned and disposed of and HMAS Otway's casing, fin and the steering gear had been sent to Holbrook as part of the submarine display (google Holbrook to find out why).
A bunch of stockers from HMAS Platypus were dispatched to Holbrook to retrieve the parts needed.
