So I’m working away from home. Had a pretty good day today so went to the pub. Bit slow on a Tuesday but the beer was cold. Funny thing was they had an AFL game on, some repeat obviously, Essendon Wotzernames vs the Hungry Jacks. What a blast! Super fast, the lead changed every quarter, very exciting to watch. And I can honestly say I now have a much better appreciation of how Indians feel watching their first game of rugby union, or an american watching cricket 🤣
I’ll have to visit my Melbourne cousins and get a bit more savvy on the rules šŸ˜‰

I don’t think Indians would have too much trouble picking up the games intricacies.

I believe the Navaho and Apache have a very similar game, but instead of a Sherrin, they use a white mans scrotum filled with air. Which, incidentally, is where the term ā€œKick him in the ballsā€ came from.

I once took a non AFL bloke to the footy, spent most of the game explaining the rules ….. a truely painful experience. I didn’t even have a chance to yell abuse at the umpire!

Pat will take you to the footy, it’ll probably be a Collingwood game, so nothing exciting.
