The carburettors on the V6

And yes you are right the lever in the foreground is an accelerator pump, interesting that this was disabled on the V6(s) of Cor Dees, and also on the Laverda family V6 ?? maybe I don't know.

CLEM

Yes, they were removed and blanked off on all 3 machines.

he did say as much and that the liquidators had allowed him to retain it when they stepped in, for various reasons, but Massimo has died and it is not our business to know what his wishes, either legal or implied where when this happened, its a question that might get spoken about, but one that would never get asked. I was just trying to differentiate between the bike that raced and the two that didn't. According to Peter Veenis (Dutch trader) there was one left in Spain (after track testing) with a broken crankshaft that he sold it to a Japanese collector, it never reared its head, and it would have by now (for sure) and never substantiated at the time, so probably hogwash with a capital H

That?s exactly what it was..

I had contact to Piero Laverda first time I heard that (years ago) and he confirmed that this never happened and also would never have happened. The V6 was a rolling laboratory - why the hell would they give away (or left behind) their crown jewels just because something is broken??? Makes absolutely no freaking sense to me. This is a fake story of someone, not sure where it started but please let it end unless someone can deliver a real (!!!!) proof this ever happened.

I really doubt you will ever see a proof of this story as it is absolutely nonsense to me. Why would they leave a bike behind and then make such a fuzz about the existing bike, drill holes into the cylinder head and cam cover to protect it with a seal from anyone taking a look at the cams and valves etc. before sending it to other places (especially Asia)?? there is absolutely no sense in that story for me, Clem, sorry. To many absolutely unique and selve developed parts on the bike. They spend something like 2.000.000 DM on the development (would be for sure something like 5 Million ? at least today). What would make them give away a bike to a spanish importer that is worth 5 Million ? in development, please?

Massimo confirmed to Ray Sheepwash at the time that it was hogwash, using the fax machine in my office, but he took three weeks to reply and the wording did leave it very, very slightly open, probably a result of his spoken and written English, but never say never. If I see or hear of one, I will be secretly on it.

There is a missing genuine 297cc six cylinder Honda, out of the six bikes that were originally factory made, its definitely out there as someone was prosecuted and jailed for tax fraud because of its sale to a Dutchman, never been seen again, I hope it is cherished, not rusting and not melted for scrap!!!
