This explains why Gallina (or Nicola) does not appear in the list of results.
Competition was fierce in the F750 class, even though the Yamaha TZ750 was only allowed the following year in 1975.

Peter Williams on JPS Norton Space frame finished 4th behind three Yamaha TZ 350s ..
The Commando-based engine was no longer competitive against the Japanese two strokes.
Same for the 744cc Laverda SFC engine.

The Phoenix has risen, Humpty Dumpty is back together again, with assistance from neither Kings horses nor men... ;)

Wanted to start up last week, then found out the 20W50 barrel was empty. :rolleyes:

Oil arrived this morning, so I set to work. Ignition timing checked and carbs balanced, engine sounds very healthy. Fairing lower isn't fitted so I can better check for oil leaks, all good so far! Top end oil supply is perfect.

Only a short (crappy)vid, camera battery was low and I'm no Stanley Kubrick...

Certainly has been a challenge, it's taken me to ground I've never ventured upon before. But, it was all pretty basic engineering that just required thought and patience.

Although no Kings' horses or Kings' men helped, I did recieve quite a bit of outside assistance for which I'm extremely grateful. My thanks go to Werkzeugtechnik Schmitz in Troisdorf for their patience with the welding job. Harry Schröder of Schröder Mechanische Werkstatt GmbH for the machining job of the upper crankcase. Andy Wagner from Laverdaparadies for the donation of a pristine set of SFC pistons and barrel. To top it off, our own Quentin Frayne from Melbourne for his generosity donating a pair of SFC conrods!

I guess this chapter and thread can now be wrapped up, see you at the Nürburgring!

You have no idea how much you educate people and engage them intellectually in the story of Laverda.
AI certainly couldn't tell us all these details—real-life stories passed down through word of mouth.

The bike looks brilliant and sounds incredible. I put my Sennheiser headphones on to get a better sound rendition than the shitty little speaker in my computer and it felt like I was standing next to the bike. What a beast! I wish I could see and hear it in action for real. Well done Piet.

Yes, you’re right.

The look on the receivers face was not one of euphoria though…… he couldn’t walk properly for a week. 😉
