the ugliest bike

FYI the Road Hog is still alive, or at least in captivity at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa, USA. It ended up with Buzz Walneck, who along with his wife, Pixie, ran a motorcycle magazine/mostly penny shopper here in the US for decades. Buzz is a hell of a character himself, I think he ran his publication mostly so he could have first dibs on interesting bikes for sale! Anyway, the bike is on display. It runs a 153 cubic inch pushrod Chevy 4-cylinder.

"Rider wore an ironed short sleeve shirt, cargo shorts, long socks and brown brogue shoes…….. the degree of typical????"

I'm guessing his name was Van Der Merwe, and he is a long way from home.

Narrowly missed out on a 1200 TTS-E about 25 years ago... still kicking myself. Got a soft spot for strange motorcycles. ;)

yeah - didn't we all have that experience? For me it was in the 90's with a 750 SFC and an almost identical 750 SFC Replica, sold by the same gentleman on a market in Italy for 16.000.000 Lira (16.000 DM => theoretically roughly 8.000€ today, more realistic though 16.000€, considering the overall price increases...) Would have been a real bargain... couldn't transfer money within 4 hours, the seller wanted cash...

around the same time, I was offered Münch TTS for 50.000DM. Not enough money on hand, was building a house... :-(

5 years ago, I was offered a 911 3.0 Turbo (G-Modell) for 50.000€ - first hand, owned by someone I know quite well, original 115.000km. My wife wasn't happy to permanently store her car outside though to make sure it finds a place in the garage... not enough money though, too... Prices short after rose to 70.000, then 90.000, meanwhile they are beyond 100.000 for a good, dry Turbo... 😩 would have been a good investment...

Just to add to the Münch story. These photos also taken on my visit to the P.S. Speicher museum. Having first looked over the original Münch motorcycles on display, IMHO, they are works of art and of a genius, I saw this 'modern' version. Thank you Herr T. Petsch for only making 13. I hope his other business ventures were more successful.1667403719388.jpeg

I don’t find it anywhere near as ugly as many of the other bikes on this thread, but I haven't been well recently so that Could have affected my taste buds.
