thinking of adding a "Non Laverda Projects" forum section. Opinions?

Paul: Good idea only if it is 100% motorcycle related. The value of this forum and it's
members is the depth and breadth of long term knowledge that can be accessed.
Personally,I would like some info on mechanics of the 1973 Guzzi V7 Sport I've owned
for forty four years and cannot find answers on the vaunted internet ! I'm sure many of
the people on the Forum own multiple other marques that to some degree are also run
by other people. I can almost be certainly be counted on to advise on Bridgestone 350
GTR models plus others.....

My brother had a Bridgestone 350, I remember it broke crankshafts a lot. Dunno why, I would have been 10yo.

He is dead, dead so I don’t plan asking him soon.

I think this thread has slid off topic.....blimey , we can`t have that can we?
I would have thought the thread title would give all the indication you need relating to the content , without the need for some sort of topic apartheid.
Even if the conversation drifts away you always have the original post title to refer back to to get things back in line.
Too much regimentation will damage the fluency which makes peoples contributions so interesting.
I wondered what had happened to Ron....if anyone was ever offended by anything he said then I would suggest the problem lies with them , not him.
This forum is certainly a duller place without him , some obviously would prefer it that way.
I realise it`s a difficult job to try to strike a balance when dealing with so many disparate issues/topics/personalities , but as I see it there isn`t a lot wrong with the forum as it stands , any changes made in an attempt to placate some may only succeed in alienating others.
Maybe the answer , as with any discussion group , is to live and let live a little , and not to be so quick to take offence when someone offers up a differing viewpoint , whether it be technical,cultural or professional.

Yes I miss Ron and Yogi even if I didn't have a clue what Ron was on about most of the time. I think it's quite cruel to exclude them. Maybe there should be an 'orange' alert warning at the top of the forum telling people to live and let live. Ron took a lot of flack on here and stayed the course. Good on him.
