This weeks joke

Not a joke as such , but still funny ......

`Allo `Allo was based , and was a mickey take , of a serious BBC drama about the Belgian resistance in occupied Europe during WW2 , called Secret Army ...... although ` Allo ` Allo shifted the whole thing over to France ......

Best scene with La vie en rose I find is in "The cheap detective" (one of my favorit films with Peter Falk and Eileen Brennan...), where "Betty DeBoop" alias Eileen Brennan sings the song with only lalala and on the refrain "en rose", as the character can't remember the french words... 😂 :

Jeez, 24 Hours Perth to Derby and you still haven't covered 1/3 of the STATE.
That’s going north, Google says you can drive east to Eucla on the SA border in only 15 hours. Anyway I’m not sure how you get the 1/3 part since Derby to the public toilet just over the NT border east of Kinurra is only another 9 hours and 21 minutes. (Isn’t Google Maps great?)

If you can drive Perth to Eucla in 15 hours you will be doing a lot better than me and either have a huge fuel tank, piles, a speeding ticket, or all 3.

Derby is not the absolute north of the state and Perth is not the absolute south. She be a pretty big state.

I knew I was taking a chance posting about Australian geography, but google agreed with your 24 hr estimate from Perth to Derby, are they that far off on Perth to Eucla?

“Where is.com” a more local map thingy comes up with 25 hours to derby and 15 hours 3 mins to Eucla.

It is a long and very boring drive. I've done it in well less than 15 hours several times but those trips were in a Holden V8 panel van with a shift crew of three, 1 driving, 1 keeping the driver awake and the third sleeping. Also total disregard for the speed limit. Can't do that these days

Also, take recommended driving times with a grain of salt. Remote WA, in fact remote Australia, is a very hairy place to drive from dusk to dawn. Bad enough in fenced rural areas but the animals get a lot bigger when the fences stop. One animal strike can make for a very expensive trip, or a very deadly one.

A Mother-in-law decides to test her three Son-in-laws for their good nature.
For this, she goes for a walk by the river with the 1st Son-in-law & jumps in. He saves her.
Next morning, he finds a Toyota Corolla parked outside his house with a note: "From your Mother-in-Law"
Next, she goes for a walk by the river with the 2nd Son-in-law & jumps in. He too saves her.
Next morning He also finds a Toyota Corolla parked outside his house with a note: "From your Mother-In-Law"
Next, she goes for a walk by the river with the 3rd Son-in-law & jumps in. He just laughs and walks away...
Next morning, he finds a BMW M5 parked outside his house with a note:
"FROM YOUR FATHER-IN-LAW!" 😀😁
