This weeks joke

We had a new bloke join the crew on one of the submarines; he volunteered for every task that came up, his nickname became HDDD (Heroic Deeds Done Daily)
The officers were known by their jobs; Donks was the mechanical engineering officer, L was the electrical officer, Torps was the weapons officer and so on. The most junior officer was known as the SLJO (Shitty Little Jobs Officer).

I once had a TV journalist (I forget her name) turn up to a job site I where I was the construction site manager, wanting to get some technical info from me about the project. I referred to her as a JAFO. She eventually asked what JAFO meant and I said "Just Another Fucking Observer". Her smile disappeared and she wasn't keen on talking to me any more.

We had a boss called Hoddy, or HOD. Hand-on-dick.
There is usually a “Magnetic Arse” in every electrical workshop, the guy who never gets off his stool. My mate in the RNZAF called those guys “Shiny Bums”.
I work with a guy at the moment called “Teflon Shoulders” because it’s always “someone else’s job” and he never accepts blame for anything.
My absolute favourite is “Handee Towel” - thick, strong and thirsty 🤣

It certainly wasn't rugby. Your trip South has inoculated you with real NZ values Andy. Well done.

My offsider was at the Brass - and saw the RGS too.

Haha I was born up north, but my heritage is Westport, Port Chalmers, Christchurch and Ashburton Forks, 😉 so no worries there!

I was the only Lav there, but there were some lovely Ducati’s. One of them pinched the prize from me 🤣
