To sell as parts or not???

And It worked so well on that run into Breganze :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
picked up two awards that day...
Most distance covered and most thirsty riders at the square.:ROFLMAO:

That is good to know. besides the looks it seems that there is a totally different way of riding. No throttle and a host of levers to play with to keep the bike running. Multi tasking taken to a new level! This clip is of a forum member who kindly shared his experience of the Banbury run. I would like a crack at that!
There's a 1927 600 sidevalve Douglas in the family. I've rebuilt the gearbox once and it's due again. It gets used.
It's like riding a 5 barred gate - long and flexible. One of the reasons the box gets abused is the ease of across the tank clutchless changes..
They're fun on quiet roads. I really don't like riding them in traffic.

I have a neighbour who has a 1929 Douglas in his shed. It's a rusty old wreck that desperately needs fixing up before it disintegrates. I've been trying to twist his arm to sell it to me for years. So far without success.

I spoke to a guy who specialises in model “H” Triumphs in Dorset- he reckoned the spares availability was near 100% and could probably build a new one from bits! Far more affordable than a Norton and usable.
That's the future. Simple, infinitely repairable and 100% spares back up.

That?s a bloody good system, IMHO.
Here (Australia, not Bristol UK :D ) if you have multiple bikes you have to pay for the third-party insurance component for each bike even though you can only physically operate one at a time, which means any one-person household with more than one vehicle registered is subsidising the risk of others and from an actuarial perspective distorting the actual monetary value of that risk.

Here, though, the robbing motherfuckers would see the loss of revenue as something that was unacceptable.
Sure sounds a lot like the situation here in Canada too. I think the Swiss have it right. Too bad our govt. wouldn't consider it. As you said, Dave, they wouldn't see the loss of revenue as an acceptable option...🙄

pretty much the same in UK, Dave, anything you use has to be individually insured, bikes or cars over 40 years old are free from annual tax and annual roadworthiness test though, so its not that bad.
CLEM
Even THAT would be a bonus, Clem!! We get annual bills for all vehicles over here. Funny, they're some if the only mail that never gets lost...🤔😉
