Triple clamp offset and the pro’s and con’s of 25 vs 45 mm on a triple ( RGS to be exact )

As Cam said the easiest way to see what's happening to the trail dimension is to graph it or do a scale drawing. It's all relative, with our older bikes an easy to achieve change is not going to suddenly have the bike radically unstable. When I first went to longer rear shocks I made a gadget that allowed me to use my standard length shocks but jacked the rear top shock mount 30mm higher. The first time I rode with it had the bike steering and tipping in a lot faster but still no tankslappers, but the seat height was hard to deal with. Just like the first Gen long-travel suspension Dirtbikes. Not practical in the real world. There is stuff in that book that will blow your mind and completely change what you intuitively think about bike chassis design.
